I am Leigh Little, a licensed Esthetician, which means skin care professional. It has been said of me, I don't 'do facials', I 'do skin care'. There is a large difference there. You will get a facial during your skin care service. But you will also get 'education' on your skin care regime. You may learn 'why' your skin is the way it is; what you can do to improve your current skin condition; and how to keep your skin in good repair throughout your life. So many young people have said to me, "I'd like to get a facial before my wedding, but I don't want my skin all red for that day." Girls, if your friend went somewhere for a facial the day before her wedding and ended up all red and blotchy for three days, she went to one of those people who 'do facials' and has not the first idea about how to do 'skin care'. If you're going to an important event, that is a wonderful time to get a facial, wouldn't you want to look your very best? The 'proper' facial for your skin always make you look better, not worse! You will notice below that we are closed the last Friday of each month. And why, you ask, should we be closed on a Friday. Well, on that day, each month, I go to Nina's Nails and More to do skin care in Minier, Illinois. Nina has been doing nails "forever" but recently decided to add skin care to her service menu. When Nina lost her cosmetologist I offered to pitch in and help her out. And here I am, once a month. So if you can't make it to Fairbury, why not make an appointment in Minier. Nina has a full service nail salon and she recently added a wonderful new room for our skin care and makeup. She's such a peach.

I hope you will all take a quick look at a September 11th memorial project I've just gotten involved with. Textiles designer Doreen Lynn Saunders has initiated a project honoring each individual victim of the tragedy. It's quite a courageous undertaking and I'm proud to be a part of The Americana Stars Memorial.
